Open Mic Night

stich ‘n’ hoot

106 N. Main St.   Elgin, TX  78621 512.285.3547
An Austin music veteran of 30+ years, Woot settled in with an acoustic guitar when he found one of John Lennon’s acoustic guitars.  Actually, he didn’t find the guitar; it was a gift from his beautiful wife Tammy and Barbara -- best mom-in law a man could have.  And to be completely honest it isn’t technically “one of John Lennon’s guitars.”  It’s an Epiphone EJ-160 John Lennon Signature model.   A guy can dream can’t he? He is inspired by Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Big Bill Broonzey, Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, James Taylor, Keb Mo, Steve Earle and obviously John Lennon. Woot will be joined by David Fore, formally of legendary bands Bubblepuppy and D-Day. David currently plays drums with the award winning band The Eggmen.
Since 2010, Mark and Robbe have performed at coffeehouses, farmer's markets, wineries, breweries, bistros, pubs, bars, cafes and other venues in and around Austin and from Dallas to Port Aransas and La Grange to Fredericksburg. Acoustic finger-style guitar, vocal harmonies and engaging original songwriting highlight their truly unique musical style that encompasses vintage country, vintage rock, folk and blues.

Robert LaRoche w/ David Perales Saturday, July 14, 7:30pm
Thought-provoking lyrics and great melodies in a wide range of styles from a veteran vocalist and guitarist, solo or with his top-shelf sidemen.  Fletcher’s songwriting is influenced by the Texas singer- songwriters for whom he has been sideman or producer (Steven Fromholz, Bobby Bridger, Rusty Wier, Gary P. Nunn, Dee Moeller, Rick Beresford, Kenneth Threadgill, Bill & Bonnie Hearne, et al).
Fletcher Clark Saturday, June 16, 7:30 pm
Rosedale Mark Henricks and Robbe Brunner  Saturday, August 18, 7:30pm
Dickie Lee’s birthplace, Hobbs, New Mexico, is in a part of West Texas and Eastern New Mexico that is fertile ground for producing musicians. Several small towns and cities within a hundred miles of Hobbs are the birthplaces of many famous names in the music business, including Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Waylon Jennings, Mac Davis, Gary P. Nunn, Sonny Throckmorton and the legendary Norman Petty Studio That proximity is incidental, but nonetheless, Dickie Lee’s roots are authentic.

Cleve and Sweet Mary are founding members of Greezy Wheels, an Austin, Texas-based rock/alternative/Americana band that formed in the 1970s. Minnie and Ella are two very talented sisters from Coupland, ages 15 and 17 who sing and play guitar, violin and tenor guitar. Sounding like seasoned musicians they love swing and hot jazz, and play some straight-up fiddle tunes as well. They have been performing at opries, clubs, coffeehouses, and street corners for several years.
